Once upon a midnight moon
I danced with my dear about the gloom.
The stars did shine bright in the sky
While all my hopes and fears passed by.
My lover’s eyes—bright as the globe
That lights our world — a pauséd strobe.
A smile so tender and so dear
A tear escapes as I hold near.
We try to treasure this night for it’s
The one we have. The one we get.
For when the sun dawns in the morn.
She vanishes into the Dawn.
