We came over to Utopia

But could not recognize it.

A blissful land ‘o plenty

Then thought we would supersize it.

‘Manifest Destiny,’

We called it with no shame.

We called the natives savages

And then, their lands, we claimed.

We didn’t know we didn’t know

And then assumed the right

To push aside our fellow man

And slaughter them by night.

We brought with us Smallpox and

A litt’ny of diseases.

We gave infected blankets to

The natives in deep freezes.

We made all sorts of promises

We didn’t plan to keep.

Treaties with the white people

Were, as their words, so cheap.

They even gave a bounty if you

Skinned a native’s head.

Such barbaric acts of violence

Were the norm in the homestead.

We killed so many natives that it

Dropped the global temp.

By two degrees completely—

We exerted our footprint.

We slaughtered all the bison

Why I do not know.

Ostensibly to starve them—

All the Sioux and all the Crow.

So don’t talk ‘bout morality,

You hypocritic fools.

Genocide is in your blood.

And still continues too.
