Hell’s a little empty cuz the Devil’s up here.
Well, he came around the city and we had a few beers.
I hear he found a little lady and he always gets paid.
May have come a little early but at least he got laid.

If you see him comin’ for ya try to go the other way 
‘Cuz he gets a little angry when the people don’t pay.
If you grab him by the collar, he will captivate your soul 
Then he’ll suck it from your being — leave a cavernous hole.

I know it’s really tricky but the Devil comes quick.
You will think you’re safe in solitude and he comes with a brick
And he’ll knock you on the head, then he’ll try and steal yer girl
And there’s nothing you can do as long as he is in the world.

But it really ain’t the Devil it’s the rich obtaining more
It’s the root of all the evil and a life we can’t afford.
They’re killing all of us for profit cause they don’t know how it works
That a man who lived fulfilled will be the richest one on Earth.
