I’m super excited to share this. This is a song I wrote at about 16-years-old to this particular sample from the Nine Inch Nails song Ringfinger from Reznor’s first album. I’ve recorded different versions over the years but this is my favorite by far.

When you walk you always fall
When you cry you really bawl
When you speak you mumble and stutter
When you lose a love you just go find another

Somebody’s stupid!Somebody’s stupid!
Somebody’s stupid
But it’s not me.

When you fight you always lose
When you pick you never choose
When you’re sad it makes me glad
All those things I never had oh

Somebody’s stupid!Somebody’s stupid!
Somebody’s stupid
But it’s not me.

When you fright you start to shake
Then you feel your body quake
When you go you never know
Who Might be glad to see you go

Somebody’s stupid!Somebody’s stupid!
Somebody’s stupid
But it’s not me.

BRIDGE

When you think that you know everything
But you ain’t ever read a book, you see?
Well then you’re not smart you’re just pretending
And have been all along.
When you walk you always fall
When you cry you really bawl
When you speak you mumble and stutter
When you lose a love you just go find another

Somebody’s stupid!Somebody’s stupid!
Somebody’s stupid
But it’s not me.
