Just an example of how I write poetry. Now, I set out YEARS ago to become the best rhyming poet in the world. You can judge whether or not I’m that. I’m sure there’s someone better I should be reading but this lousy excuse for a culture forgot how important our poets are.

At any rate, I became the best I could possibly be at writing all sorts of metered, rhymed poetry. I even studied WHY we rhyme at all (to make it more memorable, thus easier to hand down orally over generations!).

Fortunately for me that also made me a really special songwriter. Now I’m at the beginning of a journey but I’m turning thousands of people on and I’m ASCENDING. So this is just some insight into how I write, how I make art, how I make music. Innovation rarely comes when you’re stuck doing things the same way you’ve always done it but it requires TRUE courage to do something different and new, especially if you found any sort of success doing them the old way! read this whole thread:
