Ecstasy Unbound

Benjamin Stone's avatarMusings of the Mad

I’m going for a walk right now

Not list’ning to your pleas.

I know you want my presence there’s just

Not enough of me.

A lovely village band is playing

Salsa in the square.

I’d rather not be anywhere but

Better here than there.

Suddenly I’m far from you just

Drinking in the sound,

Then something wells within me

Just like ecstasy unbound.

A voice rings out amongst the crowd

As if singing to me.

Angelic and dissoci’tive

I feel I’m finally free.

I take it in for hours, surely,

Could have been for days—

I lose myself in nourishment.

The soul kind—I’m amazed.

You cannot duplicate the joy

A bit of music brings

My worries seem so far away

Whatever could they be?
