I wanted to write you a poem today
Been thinking a lot about what I would say
I love you so much in so many ways.
I know that I’m blessed to have you.

I chose you before I was born — this I know.
I knew that I’d need you were I going to grow.
And growth is the point. I know it, although
It took me so long to find value.

In living this life. I once knew but forgot
That life is a blessing and all of it wrought
By the god of the Moon and the Stars and the thought
That he’s within all of us sates me.

It once was more difficult, but now I see.
That living is simple as long as I’m me.
And it’s made much better because I have thee.
Now I can go on creating.
