I typically write poems that are meaningful to me or I think can impart a lesson that perhaps I’m only coming to realize fully by sharing the lesson with others. I figure if I write stuff that makes me happy, it will make other people happy too. I derive most of my pleasure in this life from making other people happy. I know I need to focus more on my own happiness and I am. I’m working on it. I’m doing a ton of internal work right now, y’all. God is calling me to do it.

I know it’s You and me.
We make a great team.
I can’t do this alone.
I depend on Thee.
You’ve got me through so much
Before I even had faith
You’ll get me through this too.
And I’ll come through unfased
But I’ll also be transformed
Into the man who has it all.
The transformation is underway
I answer when you call.
