Something I started a few days ago and just added the final two lines tonight. I hope it brings a bit of joy to your life.
Come sit beside. Hear me
Spin you a yarn
It can only assist you
It won’t do you harm.
It’s about a peculiar young
Gentleman Sam.
Who didn’t eat pork
So he didn’t like ham.
One day this young gentleman
Went for a stroll
Around the small village
Just him and his soul.
They saw a young damsel
Not at all in distress.
He thought her peculiar,
Like him. Such a mess.
He asked her to dance there
In the middle of town.
She did not decline and they
Both danced around
A smile of pure joy
On both of their faces.
You can try to do anything
You’ll never erase this.
The people all gathered
And then they joined in.
A moment of bliss in that
Fair little glen.
In the peculiar village
With a peculiar young man.
The people rejoiced as they
Danced and held hands.
