
When I finished this I couldn’t stop giggling. Not because it’s that funny. Because I couldn’t believe I wrote it.
I wish that allegory wasn’t lost.
That we preserved the art, despite the cost,
To those who seek to rule this Make Believe.
And not by bending fellow man to knee,
By tricking him into thinking he’s sovereign
While enslaving his wife and his two daughters.
It just doesn’t occur to him he’s bound.
He goes where’er he wants about the town.
There aren’t any chains on his legs, see?
But I bet he has a state-issued ID.
