The Serpent is the Devil, it is true.
But you must know that this is metaphor.
The Devil isn’t real. In fact, he’s you.
The version of you you believe you are—

For when we’re born, we’re naked babes in Eden.
The Serpent is the way this world confuses.
The fruit of the Tree of Knowledge is a lead-in.
To all the rest of life’s normal abuses.

That’s why Jesus said to become a child.
If you want to enter the Realm of God.
The confusion of a little one is mild.
To remember past lives isn’t all that odd.

So you see, Eden’s a metaphor for Earth.
It’s not an actual place, for what it’s worth.
