I just want to write poetry—
It makes me happy to.
I have to please my audience.
I’m ready to amuse.
I have to think a joke to tell
To make some of you laugh.
Divorce is what can oft occur
To cut the kids in half.

I hate the world we live in but
There are some really special moments.
I guess we are all just living for these.
Screwing up and atoning.
