I Quit Sports

And I was sort of surprised how easy it was. I was tempted to check in on my lone fantasy football team that was still alive the other day on an NFL Sunday and the first time I saw an official make a call that was blatantly wrong and intentional I had to turn it off. I sat through a lot of that and tried to enjoy them anyway, understanding fully the results are predetermined and usually a part of some ritual. (Look up all the symbolism in Lebron and Jordan’s championships.)

So today, I couldn’t tell you anything at all about what is going on in any kind of sport for the first time since the Titans came to Nashville when I was about 19 working at Service Merchandise as the Electronics Department Manager.

That’s growth. I’m proud.
