Once I met a lovely bee.
The two of us soon wed.
T’was the richest of relationships—
We made sure each was fed.
I fed her with flowers,
And love to fill her heart.
She returned that same love.
And, honey, that’s a start.
T’was the briefest relationship that
I have ever had,
But taught so many lessons.
Like to focus on the glad.
Would I have given up that joy
To avoid inevitable loss?
I only believe in gain here.
Nothing here is mine,
So nothing can be lost.
