If you’re drinking dandelion tea
And not consuming excess poisons
In your drink and in your food,
And not taking prescription drugs,
You simply won’t get cancer.
There will be nothing there to fight.
Dandelion Root Tea (Simple Decoction Method)
Roast your dandelion roots unless you bought some roasted.
🌿 How to Roast Dandelion Roots (for Tea or Coffee-Style Brew)

Roasting deepens the flavor and reduces the sharp bitterness. You’ll get something earthy, slightly nutty, and closer to coffee.
Step 1: Clean the Roots
- Scrub thoroughly under running water.
- Trim off small side roots and any remaining green tops.
- No need to peel unless the skins are very tough.
Step 2: Chop
- Slice into small pieces (¼–½ inch chunks).
- Smaller pieces roast more evenly and grind more easily later.
Step 3: Dry First (Optional but Better)
If the roots are fresh:
- Spread them out and air-dry for a day or two
or - Put them in the oven at 170–200°F (75–95°C) for 1–2 hours to remove moisture.
Drying first prevents steaming and gives a better roast.
Step 4: Roast
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Spread pieces in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Roast 20–40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
They’re done when:
- Dark brown (not black)
- Dry and brittle
- Smell rich and toasty
If they smell burnt or turn black, they’ve gone too far.
Step 5: Cool & Store
- Let them cool completely.
- Store whole or grind into coarse granules.
- Keep in an airtight jar.
Tea Recipe
What you need
- 1 tablespoon dried dandelion root (roasted or raw)
- 2 cups water
How to make it
- Bring water to a boil.
- Add the root.
- Reduce heat and let it simmer gently for 10–15 minutes.
- Strain and pour into a mug.
If you like it stronger, let it simmer longer.
If you prefer it milder, reduce the root or steep instead of simmering.
Optional: add ghee (or real butter) cinnamon, honey, a slice of fresh ginger, or a splash of milk
I just drink this straight at this point. Simmer the roots for about 15 minutes and strain. Drink when it gets cool enough.
