This poem is to a soul I met one time with whom I connected deeply for a brief period. Like a fleeting moment of pure energy that we both felt but knew we could not sustain.
There’s no chance to slow dance.
I want to move tonight.
Little girl
Let me twirl you.
Let the rhythm unfurl you.
I want to take you with me dear
And never let you go.
When our eyes locked and synced, my dear
Well that was when I knew.
And I could never hold you dear.
And this was long ago.
But somewhere at night,
Our souls dance again.
And this is what I know.
