It occurred to me the other night that the plot of the movie Hook (a Spielberg film but not written by Spielberg) is sort of like the journey every soul on Earth has to eventually undertake at a certain point. Not everyone gets there in one lifetime. Not everyone is here to get it. Lots of people are playing roles. They are just role players. We perceive them as evil but they cannot hurt us unless we allow them to.
So the plot is that Peter Pan has grown up and forgotten that he was Peter Pan and he has to remember that he has all these magical powers like he can fly and do somersaults and kill pirates in order to save his children, which of course he ultimately does. We did used to get happy endings in movies.
That’s the journey all of us have to take, and honestly many of us as young children have a much better grasp on the fact that this is the journey that we are on, but our souls are innocent and resistance on this path can get confusing and the ego responds to that confusion with fear. This can affect you for as long as you let it but no longer.
YOU are Peter Pan. You can freaking fly. You can. You just have to remember that you are Peter freaking Pan.
