The Christ is not your Jesus,
Your messiah hasn’t come.
And you misunderstand
Where that prophecy comes from.
But, see I understand it ‘cause
I’ve read a lot of books.

Complicated yarn.

Why not look in Africa
Ethiopia, exact.
Nothing is in Palestine
That proves Israel was sacked!

In 701 BCE
Sennachrib had a plan
To squeeze as much
Out of the Jews
(In the Northern Hebrew land)
The Hebrews inside Israel
Were thinking to themselves
Why not align with Egypt
They are fair and they have wealth?
Sennacharib was angry
And his tribute he demanded
When Israel refused,
Assyria remanded.
They wiped out the cities
In the Kingdom. People fled.
He took a lot as slaves,
And left many for dead.

But those who fled to Judah
Took their history along
And that’s why there’s two stories
In the Genesis prologue
Two narratives in many books.
The Torah, your OT.
And all of this is plainly true
Though you may not yet see.

And then some of the Israelites
Invented an idea.
Their Patriarchs, to be exact,
To remedy the ordeal.
A King would come along, they said,
To restore Israel.
So you see how the Messiah myth
Origin’lly began.
It was out of intense longing
For the Israel homeland.
