Quick Werewolf Scare for Spooky Season

A bit of prose arranged like poetry. I don’t know why I wrote it like this. Just felt natural. I hope you enjoy it. It’s nothing special.

The howling is back.
I don’t understand the pattern.
It only shows up like once a month it seems.
It’s been happening now for about 8 months, I guess?
I live in Murray, Kentucky on the border of Land Between the Lakes National Park.
I moved out here from Lexington to get away from so much that I hate about the City.
That was 3 years ago and it’s mostly been 3 wonderful years.
But this recurring visitor has me worried.
There are not supposed to be wolves in this part of Kentucky.
The last time there were any sightings at all was in the mid 1800’s.
I called the Police. I don’t know why I did that. I just wanted it documented, I guess.
I wanted someone to know besides my Mom, who still lives in Lexington.
A lot she can do about it.
But at least she appeared more concerned than they did.
I’m not the only one who has heard this but the neighbors just laugh about it and say it’s been going on for as long as they can remember and no one has ever been bothered.
Well, I’m bothered.
If it didn’t seem to be getting closer, I would be less so.
But it is. Almost as if it is getting braver.
I mean, am I going crazy? Just now it is so loud it seems like it’s coming from
