And what Socrates does when Crito says, ““I can tell you of many persons who are willing to save you… and there will be no difficulty in escaping,” is basically say, “This is unavoidable. This is necessary.” It’s the same concept as Jesus going willingly to the cross when he could just will himself out of the situation if he wanted to.

So, understand that the baptism will be by fire, not water, and it is necessary for your rebirth. The Phoenix dies in fire.
