I wish everyone was familiar with this literature because sometimes it feels like I’m the only one read in it. If anything though, hopefully it will encourage you to read this stuff. It won’t cost you a dime.

So think about this for a second, and I’m starting here because this is a part of the narrative with which I’m very familiar having read it more than once, Crito visits Socrates in prison. In Athens. Now Athens is your Temple. Its’ the body/mind. The Prison inside Athens represents unavoidable bonds that you will face on your journey to Enlightenment. The trials you absolutely must go through. And what Socrates does when Crito says, ““I can tell you of many persons who are willing to save you… and there will be no difficulty in escaping,” is basically say, “This is unavoidable. This is necessary.” It’s the same concept as Jesus going willingly to the cross when he could just will himself out of the situation if he wanted to.

So, understand that the baptism will be by fire, not water, and it is necessary for your rebirth. The Phoenix dies in fire.
